Sally Lygo
Clinical Director & Registered Physiotherapist
Sally Lygo is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist with more than 25 years of clinical experience helping people recover from injury, overcome pain, and return to the activities they enjoy.
Originally from the United Kingdom, Sally began her career as a Sports Therapist before qualifying as a Physiotherapist. Since then, she has worked with a wide range of people, including elite athletes, military personnel, active adults, older adults, and individuals recovering from surgery.
Sally gained extensive experience within both the British healthcare system and the British Army. During her military career, she served as a Physiotherapy Officer, leading multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams that supported service personnel recovering from sports injuries, orthopaedic conditions, and complex musculoskeletal injuries. This experience strengthened her expertise in clinical reasoning, movement analysis, and progressive rehabilitation programs designed to help people safely return to demanding physical activity.
Alongside her military work, Sally has supported professional rugby teams, recreational athletes, and active individuals of all ages. Her background in military, sports, and orthopaedic rehabilitation provides a strong foundation in sports injury management, tendon rehabilitation, post-operative care, and return-to-activity planning.
While Sally has extensive experience in sports and orthopaedic rehabilitation, she is equally passionate about helping people from all walks of life regain independence and confidence. Whether someone’s goal is returning to competitive sport, playing with grandchildren, hiking, travelling, gardening, or simply walking without pain, Sally believes every person deserves an individualized rehabilitation plan centred around their goals.
Sally takes a compassionate and collaborative approach to physiotherapy. She believes successful rehabilitation begins with listening and understanding how an injury affects not only the body, but also a person’s daily life. By combining evidence-informed treatment, education, and progressive exercise, she aims to restore confidence in movement, build long-term resilience, and help people stay active.
As Clinical Director at Larch House Physio & Movement, Sally is committed to delivering exceptional patient care while fostering a culture of clinical excellence, collaboration, and lifelong learning within the team.
Philosophy
My goal is not simply to reduce pain. It is to help people return to the activities that give their lives meaning.
Every patient has a different story, different goals, and different challenges. I believe rehabilitation should be personalized, evidence-based, and empowering. Whether you are recovering from surgery, returning to sport, or simply wanting to move more comfortably, my aim is to help you understand your condition, build confidence in your body, and achieve lasting results.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare providers in Ontario, so you can book an appointment directly without a doctor’s referral. However, some extended health insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so it’s always worth checking with your provider.
-
Not at all.
While I have extensive experience working with elite athletes, military personnel, and active individuals, I enjoy helping people of all ages and activity levels. Whether your goal is to return to competitive sport, keep up with your grandchildren, walk your dog without pain, or simply move more comfortably, your rehabilitation will be tailored to what matters most to you.
-
Yes.
Post-operative rehabilitation is one of my clinical interests. I have extensive experience guiding people through recovery following orthopaedic surgery, helping them restore mobility, strength, confidence, and function with a progressive, evidence-informed rehabilitation program.
-
Absolutely.
Your home exercise program will be tailored to your condition, goals, and lifestyle. Recovery doesn’t stop when your appointment ends, and the right exercises between visits are often one of the most important factors in achieving the best possible outcome.
-
Every person and every condition is different.
After your initial assessment, we’ll discuss your goals, explain our findings, and develop a personalized treatment plan. Throughout your rehabilitation, we’ll regularly review your progress and adjust your plan to help you achieve the best possible results.
