Sophia Park McKenna
Sophia Sun Jae Park McKenna is a Senior Physiotherapist licensed to practice in South Korea, the United States, and Canada. Her international career has given her extensive experience in physiotherapy, athletic training, sports medicine, orthopaedics, and neurological rehabilitation, allowing her to provide thoughtful, evidence-informed, and personalized care.
Throughout her career, Sophia has worked in hospitals, private clinics, sports medicine centres, and on-field athletic environments, caring for everyone from elite athletes to individuals recovering from surgery or living with complex musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She earned her degrees in Physical Education and Physical Therapy from Yonsei University in South Korea before continuing her education in sports medicine at the University of Miami. She has also pursued extensive postgraduate professional development throughout her career to further expand her clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice.
Her experience includes working with athletes across a wide variety of sports—including football, track and field, tennis, swimming, basketball, and soccer—as well as several years specializing in orthopaedic and spine rehabilitation within hospital-based sports medicine and rehabilitation centres. She successfully completed the U.S. National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Board Examination and has continued to pursue advanced professional education in orthopaedic physiotherapy, dry needling, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, Clinical Pilates, and exercise-based rehabilitation throughout her career.
Sophia believes successful rehabilitation begins by understanding the person, not just the injury. She enjoys working collaboratively with each patient to identify the underlying cause of their concerns and develop an individualized treatment plan that supports lasting recovery, resilience, and confidence in movement.
Her clinical interests include orthopaedic rehabilitation, spine-related pain, Clinical Pilates, and women’s health physiotherapy. She particularly enjoys helping dancers, adolescents, active adults, and women during pregnancy and the postpartum period improve movement, build strength, and return to the activities they love.
Outside the clinic, Sophia enjoys yoga, Pilates, ballet, cooking, exploring local trails, and spending time in nature.
